The Rest Is Over

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes...including you.
~Anne Lamott

It is two weeks into October and I clearly understand that my rest time is over. What can I say? I'm a slow processor.

I am back to double duties of teaching and writing.

And, I am completely okay with that. Probably because I did my best to rest this summer.

I took the summer to have a good time, to take in the warmth and the sunshine, swim in lakes and seas, to eat up every day and to pause from teaching and the required hour after hour schedule of the work day for me and the students.

As the sun sets earlier and earlier and there are few leaves left on the trees (and many on the ground in my yard) I think of a bench at Waskesui that my friend Carolyn and I found on a hike there.

"A place to rest on the way to the top".

It was an excellent reminder of what needs to be done and sometimes what doesn't need to be done.

Happy Fall Everyone.
